Life is What Happens When You're Living It

And we've been living it!

I don't know what happened to my knitting mojo, but it is gone. Just like that. After the flurry of projects I was doing - at least one a week - my mojo completely disappeared. I know it sounds stupid, but I think it is all over having to do a buttonhole. Yes, seriously. You knitters understand. Sometimes you hit a point in a project where you have to do something that you just don't like to do. Usually it is finishing. But, for some reason, this time it is a buttonhole.

I decided to start the February Lady Sweater. I love the sweater, I know it would look fabulous on me, and I bought yarn in a great color. I knit the first 3 rows, and WHAMMO. Buttonhole time. I followed the tutorial in the pattern, but crappers, I just can't do it right now. So, the sweater is in a heap in the knitting bag.

Now, if you know me in real life, or even a little bit in blogland, you know I love the Boston Red Sox. Yes, it is that time again - baseball season. And can you believe, we were lucky to be able to score 4 tickets to one of the luxury boxes, and Poppy was able to experience his first game.

I've also been doing a lot of work on Poppy's homeschool curriculum, as well as getting more involved with a couple local homeschool groups. A couple weeks ago we went to the NH coast.

Oh, no. I too am having knitting mojo proplems. Still working on the socks I started in January. Yesterday, I finally got to the descrese rounds. Have two down! the Feb Ladies sweater is on my next to do. I've only done button holes on the BSJ. So I sure hope I can not get stuck where you do.

I'm glad you got to share your Sox passion with Poppy! My mojo has been waxing and waning for several weeks now. Michelle did a lovely FLS, so maybe she can talk you through the buttonhole?

Between the button hole and spring training, I think you're a goner! LOL Time to pull out a simple sock or a cute hat pattern for Poppy. The mojo, it's a fickle thing.

I'm glad you got your Sox game in. I'm right there with my Mojo on a Knitting Pure and Simple pattern. I should be binding off at the waist, but it seems a bit long. I really want a 2nd opinion, so it goes back into the bag until my mom or a friend comes over and I can try the WIP on. So I have back up sock for Father's Day. Super easy pattern. Find a back up project. Even if its a washcloth or a mandy's candy bag. I have a stash of both now ready for gifts. And I was using up cotton stash...totally mindless knitting.

I completely understand the lost mojo. I have it too and it is all because of a messed up cable in a glove. :)

It will come back, no worries.

Sometimes you just have to wait out the lost mojo.

Looks like Poppy enjoyed the Sox game.

Our mojo's are somewhere drinking mojito's (mojo, mojito, get it?!) together. I haven't picked up my knitting needles in over a month. Too much time on FB & yeah, life.

I'm starting to think that when things calm down, I'll be able to knit again.

You guys look adorable. Glad to see that Poppy can start his love for live in person sox games (the best type!) nice and young :)

I did the same thing with my CPH. I knew I was going to have to start the button band soon and it completely freaked me out. lol

Ack! I know those buttonholes well. I'm working on FLS and I knit NINE buttonholes just to get those three in semi-respectable shape. My sympathies! Meanwhile, to get your mojo back, go knit an easy sock pattern.

So glad you got to share the Red Sox with Poppy!! Good luck with your FLS. I haven't worked on mine since the end of February (I'm also at the button holes), but I'm going to pick it up again! Maybe the button holes won't be so tricky when you pick up yours again :)

Buttonhole schmuttonhole! :) At least you could wear the FLS open if you wanted...
