This Week the Postman Rang Twice!

Tuesday

Today, I received this beautiful package as a "lift your spirits" gift from Rebecca. So beautiful - she knows the exact kind of things I like. It included a beautiful Christian woman's book of devotionals and stories, notecards, chocolate (yummy), two dishcloths she knit and crochet'd, a windowsill garden pot of Sweet Williams, and the grand prize - her custom hand spun, (using Navajo Ply technique) yarn. Here are some close-ups of the luciousness.

Once again, I have a dilemma of what to make - and my knitting vibes are still off. Hello, knitting Gods? I don't know what I have done to make you forsake me, but I'm being a good girl! ha ha... I guess I'm supposed to focus on finishing the Yarn Harlot book by next week. I received the confirmation that I am in! Please say hi to me if you see me there (a lot of people don't put their photo on their blog like I do)...

Please check out my friend Donna's blog, she is having a contest! (YAY! A contest!)

I have written out the pattern for my candy bag (called "Mandy's Candy Bag") which I will post in the next couple days. Thank you all for asking for it, it forced me to write it out. I just want to test it one more time while reading the pattern before I put it out. Thanks for your patience!

Have a great rest of the weekend, we'll be out of town Sunday so enjoy!

Lucky you!!!(I'm green with envy) ;)

Thanks for the comments - it's always nice to know someone has visited. I always visit - but sometimes am not able to comment - darn dial-up or computer or something....

Okay - I have to ask - WHO? is Harlot? sorry.

Oh - and thanks for the info on the cotton yarn :)

Hope your weekend is an awesome one.

What a great and sweet surprise in the mail! :) The yarn is gorgeous... sounds like the 'ole fall back of when in doubt, but I bet that'll make one fantastic scarf .. either something simple & warm for winter, or something fun & funky...

Hi--I found your site a few weeks ago right about the time of your contest. I didn't enter because it seems I'm always finding sites at contest time and it makes me feel a little bit guilty! But I've been reading ever since and am really enjoying your blog! I like seeing your yarn choices (that Habu from a few posts ago is beautiful...I keep seeing that yarn around and LOVE it!) and your knitted items...I really liked the colors in your dishcloths...and what a great package you sent to Donna!

Anyway--I'll definitely keep coming back...I just wanted to quit lurking and say hi!

Hi Amanda, I love Neil Diamond too! I saw him in concert once. A friend gave me tickets for my birthday one year!
We are looking to move from Hampton to Williamsburg, since we both work up there now, it would be nice to have a shorter commute, that is for sure!

What a great package, and such lovely yarn! I can't wait to see what you make with it. Enjoy the Harlot! I'll have to live vicariously through you; she's coming within two hours of me, but on a night I can't go. Poooo!

I'm looking forward to the pattern too! ;)

I'm so glad you liked the package! Just a hint, there is exactly enough of the handspun to knit up a Calorimetry headwrap thingie from knitty.

Your blog is getting to be quite the popular one, I'm the 21st poster...don't forget about me when you're famous! But seriously, you always know just the thing to say to make me feel better. Thank you. You're an angel! I really hope to be able to come up and spend some time doing a yarn crawl and Guitar Hero...I love that game! Thank you for your support of me, I need it right now. Once pony pinning is over I'm going to write into the newspaper I think. We'll see where we get from there.

I, too, had been hit by the no-knitting bug. Just had no desire to pick up anything until yesterday. So, it happens. Take care and thanks for checking in:)
